WHO AM I?
I'm an arts and entertainment professional who has lived and worked on both the east and
west coasts of the United States. My journey into the world of entertainment began when I was
eight years old. My mom, in a desperate attempt to break me out of my introverted shell, made
me join a community theatre’s production of The Wizard of Oz. I played a flying monkey . . . I
hated life. Yet, something remarkable would eventually take place during that process. On
opening night, the lights came on, the curtain rose, the audience applauded, and I was hooked.
Since then my life in entertainment has taken me many interesting places and allowed me to
experience many compelling things. I’ve certainly worn a lot of hats over the years. I've been an
actor, director, professor, designer, historical interpreter, stage technician, stage manager,
production manager, entertainment manager, executive director, managing director, and even
a case manager for the department of juvenile justice.
I’ve worked in theme parks, cruise ships, trains, historical landmarks, regional theaters,
local theatres, Equity tours, independent films, SAG/AFTRA films, an arts council, and several
colleges. I am currently a tenured professor in the Department of Theatre Arts at Santa Ana
College in California. When I’m not walking the hallways of higher education, I’m on the road . . .
traveling . . . searching.
I'm fascinated with the performing arts and what they can teach us about who we are and
what we want. I don’t believe I have the answers to those questions just yet, but that’s okay. I
care about being genuine and authentic and wherever my journey takes me from here it
doesn’t really matter. What matters is being on the path – the destination will take care of
itself.
